Sachaca
district is located over a rock hard hill, 5 kms southwest from
Arequipa downtown. Their houses look like they are creeping
the hill. Sachaca church was built on 1807 and it has a beautiful
white bell house.
The viewpoint was built on 1990 where you can see the whole city,
the three volcanoes, Arequipa beautiful countryside, Goyeneche Palace,
Tiabaya town, Hunter district and Gloria Milk factory. This
is the perfect place to notice the development of the kind of buildings
and materials used for their construction. First the buildings
were made with adobe (mud and stone mix), then sillar (white volcanic
stone) and now reinforced concrete.
